Position Overview

As part of the school’s continued commitment to internationalisation and English language development, they are now seeking a dedicated International English Teacher to join their Elementary and Middle School team.

This is a classroom teaching role where the successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering engaging English lessons to students across upper elementary and lower secondary levels. The teacher will play a key role in developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, while also supporting their ability to access the wider curriculum in English.



Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum.

  • Teach English Language and Literacy to elementary and middle school students.

  • Develop students’ reading comprehension, writing skills, and spoken fluency.

  • Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that supports language acquisition and confidence.

  • Integrate cross-curricular links where appropriate, supporting students’ academic English development across subjects.

  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress in line with school policies.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the school’s bilingual education model.

  • Participate in curriculum development, school events, and ongoing professional development.


Candidate Profile

We are looking for an educator who is:

  • A fluent English speaker (native-level proficiency preferred)

  • A qualified teacher (PGCE, QTS, state license, or equivalent)

  • Experienced in teaching English Language at elementary and/or middle school level

  • Familiar with international curricula (Cambridge experience is an advantage)

  • Skilled in engaging students and promoting active learning

  • Collaborative, adaptable, and culturally sensitive

  • Comfortable working in a bilingual/international school environment (Spanish not required, but a plus)


Compensation & Benefits

Salary

  • Base salary: COP $5,312,300/month
  • Second language bonus (English): COP $2,641,000/month
  • Total Monthly Salary: COP $7,953,300
  • Semiannual bonuses: COP $2,656,150 (July & November)

  • Annual housing allowance: COP $13,000,000
  • Round-trip airfare on arrival and biennially thereafter
  • Three weeks' accommodation upon arrival
  • Visa & Cedula processing fees fully covered
